Sleeping through the night!

Last night Lilly slept from 9:30pm to 6am when I woke her up to eat and get ready to go for the day! When I woke up this morning I couldn't believe it. I know she probably won't do this every night from now on, but at least it is a step in the right direction. Brendan and I are so blessed to have such a good little girl.

Lilly's First Easter Egg Hunt

Friday night Lilly went to bed about 9:30 and she must have know that she had a busy day ahead of her because she only woke up once at about 3am and didn't wake up for the day until almost 7am! This also made Mommy very happy to get some sleep! When I went in to get her Saturday morning, she had tossed her blankets to the side in a ball, but was holding the receiving blanket. It was so cute. Here is a picture that she caught me taking.

We got her ready for her first Easter Egg hunt. It was EggFest that was put on by our church at a park near our house. It was a little cool so we didn't stay too long, but she seemed to enjoy watching everyone. Obviously she could hunt for the eggs herself, but we found her one egg and an Easter rubber ducky. Afterwards she we took her to the Gourmet Shop for brunch. She was so good and slept most of the time. Thank goodness! Next, Lilly got to go on a shopping day with Mommy and Grandmama. I hope she will grow up to be my little shopping buddy!

As of Sunday Lilly is no longer a "newborn" and is now an "infant"! She is now 3 months old! We are really enjoy watching her grow and learn. She is always looking around and taking everything in. I also think she is going to just one feeding at night now because she has only woke up once 3 of the past 4 nights. I hope this trend continues.

Lilly's First Trip!

Lilly has been busy lately. Thursday she was invited to a class at My Gym by her Aunt Alexa. The class was during her usual nap time, but my Mom said she was awake the whole time. I think she enjoyed herself so much she didn't want to nap the rest of the day. So I came home to a sleepy and a little cranky baby. It actually worked out okay in the end because she went to bed at 9pm (her usual bed time) and slept 6 hours! Yah! Then she didn't wake up again until about 6:30am when I got her up for the day. I was hoping she would continue the trend but I wasn't so lucky. We though daylight savings time might work to our advantage this year, but she has over adjusted all on her own and now will only sleep for 3-3.5 hours at a time during the night. I hope she will drop down to once a night very soon!

This past Saturday we went to Charleston for the day. It was Lilly's first real trip. My parents were staying on their boat in Charleston for the weekend and we thought it would be a beautiful day to visit. We also went to the market to walk around and eat lunch. When we got back Papa took Lilly for her first boat ride! She was so good all day and in the car. I just wish the day had been longer so we could have done more! Here are some pictures from the trip.

New Moon!

I loved all the Twilight books and have seen both movies so far. My sister and I actually went to see Twilight followed by New Moon at 12am on the release day (and I was 8 months pregnant). I figured it was my last chance to go to the movies for awhile. I don't plan on buying it at midnight this Friday, but I would like to get it eventually. You can check out the widget below to learn a little more about New Moon and if you haven't read the saga, I encourage you to do so. They are wonderful!

Ready for Spring!

I'm sure everyone else is ready for Spring as much as I am! It officially starts Saturday and I am ready for some warm weather. Check out: Fresh Brownies blog for a chance to win O.P.I. nailpolish in the cutest colors for spring! It makes me want to repaint my nails now.

I can't wait to be able to wear flip flops and sandals everyday and be able to run in shorts and a tank top again!

New Video Camera!

Brendan's parents sent us a video camera earlier this week so we can get her on camera as she grows. We have been trying to get her to talk while we are filming her, but she is way to interested in the camera to do much but stare at it! Apparently she thinks she is a movie star! This morning when I was changing her she was talking away to me and Brendan slipped in with the camera so she didn't notice, but as soon as she saw the camera she quieted down. At least we have her "talking" a little bit. I will post a video as soon as I figure out how to do it. For now here is a picture of us at Brendan's family hunting land in Ridgeway.

Zoo Trip!

Yesterday was a big day for our family! Brendan and I joined the church in December and Brendan needed to get baptised because he was coming from a Catholic church. Well, yesterday was the big day! I was worried about taking Lilly into the sanctuary because the night before at Nicholas's baptism we had to leave because Lilly decided she wanted to play. Luckily she fell asleep when we were walking to the sanctuary and slept through the whole thing. Next weekend we are going to take Lilly to the nursery and finally be back in Sunday School!

After church, we went to the Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens. This was Lilly's first trip to the zoo. It was such a nice day that we wanted to get her out to enjoy it. She liked the gardens the best, but eventually fell asleep walking around. I will post some pictures later.

About to go into the zoo!

Middle of the Night

This might sound a little crazy, but I am actually enjoying Lilly's middle of the night feedings. She usually goes to bed about 9pm and gets up between 12:30-1:30 and again about 3:30-4:30. Although last night she only woke up once at 2:30am! Don't get me wrong I will be glad when she sleeps all night and I can enjoy uninterrupted sleep for a night, but for now I don't mind. I guess since I can't be with her during the day it is like a special time just for us. She knows that when she needs me at night I am there for her. She is only up for about 30 minutes and goes right back to sleep on her own so it's really not that bad.

On another note... tonight is my friend April's baby's baptism and Lilly and I are going. I really enjoy taking her out now that she has her shots and insurance is in affect. She loves to see new things and to learn. Yesterday my Mom was helping her pull up to sitting and after 2 times she decided there was no need to pull up to sitting, she would just stand up (with support of course!). This morning she did it over and over and LOVED it! Maybe she will be a runner like her Mama!

Snow... again???

We hardly ever get any snow in Columbia, but we have already gotten it twice this year! Lilly got to see her first snow February 12th and 13th. We got about 8 inches, which is more than we have gotten since before I was born. She seemed to like watching the snow fall. Last night we had some more snow, but only a little was left by morning. I guess we probably won't get any snow next year when Lilly would actually enjoy playing in it!

Today Lilly hasn't been feeling very well. I think it is because of her shots on Monday. She has been a little fussy and not eating as much as usual. She has always been a really good eater until now. I just hope she will be feeling better soon. I hate for her not to feel well.

It's been a while!

Well, alot has happened since my last post... Obviously, our sweet little Lilly has been born! She was born December 28, 2009 at 3:41pm. She is absolutely perfect and we couldn't love her more! She weighed in at 6 lbs 7.9ozs and was 18.5in. long. She has already grown so much!

Our first family photo

She had her 2 month appointment yesterday and first shots. Her Dr. said that her growth is great and she now weighs 10lbs 10ozs.! She went from being in the 4th percentile to 55th and she is now 22.75in. long. The Dr. says that she is perfect and was very impressed that she is already "bearing weight" on her legs. The last part of the visit was awful! She had been so sweet all morning smiling and cooing at everyone, until her shots. Poor baby started crying harder than she ever has! She hardly ever really cries so I about couldn't stand it, but I finally got her calmed down and she went to sleep. Today she is back to her happy self and that makes Mommy happy!

I am also trying to get this last little bit of baby weight off. I can finally run again although I don't have time to do it but 2 or 3 times a week. I just have 5 more pounds to go! I look foward being able to put Lilly in a jogger and taking her for runs. She LOVES being outside! Brendan and I look foward to warmer weather so she can go out more often. I will try to be better with updating the blog from now on.
